Susan Attila has been coming to Unity’s OneSong services since 2017. She has recently taken on some leadership in our community in some very creative ways. Thus, here is a bit of an introduction for all.
Susan is an interior designer by trade, and she has more recently expanded her life-long passion for therapeutic gardening into a profession as well. She also volunteers at a shelter for homeless youth, called Captain Youth. She graciously hosted Nina & Michael Forgette-Corcoran’s baby shower in her beautiful yard, so those of us who were there can attest to her glorious gardening skills!
In addition to hosting the baby shower, Susan has been co-leading the hiking and outdoors gatherings this summer. Hiking and outdoors activities are some of her passions, as well as gardening. You may have noticed in the newsletter that she is offering to share her therapeutic gardening skills with us, in the form of a Spiritual Garden Club. The focus of this will be to transform Unity’s meditation garden area, with each member cultivating their own small area, while collectively creating a diverse spiritual meditation garden that represents who we are as a Unity community. Doesn’t that sound wonderful? This is a great opportunity for anyone who would like to learn more gardening skills, and/or how to create a meditative outdoor space.
(The first gathering for the Spiritual Garden Club will be in the garden Sunday, September 26 at 12:00, after the service. So, come and join us!)
