Community Loan Fund of the Capital Region
The Community Loan Fund of the Capital Region is a non-profit community development financial institution serving the Capital Region of New York State. Incorporated in 1985, their mission is to promote sustainable community development efforts for economically underserved people and communities.
Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York
The Regional Food Bank has been helping to feed the poor and hungry in our communities since 1982. It is the only organization of its kind in northeastern New York. The Food Bank collects large donations of food from the food industry and distributes it to charitable agencies serving hungry and disadvantaged people in 23 counties.
Food donations collected at Unity Church in Albany support the Sister Maureen Joyce Food Pantry on Sheridan Ave., Albany, an RFBNNY agency.
Focus Churches of Albany
FOCUS was created in 1967 when pastors of four churches in downtown Albany recognized a need to join together in a cooperative spirit. Over the next decades FOCUS identified serious physical needs of those in poverty. For more than 30 years, FOCUS has operated feeding programs which have grown to include tow food pantries, a year-round breakfast program which guests themselves named, “The Breakfast Club.” FOCUS is also dedicated to educating others about the realities of poverty and advocating for the needs of those suffering injustice.
