The Community Loan Fund of the Capital Region is a great local organization and one of our investments. Here are some current events and opportunities they are offering.

Learn what you need to know to start and run a successful small business with our 8-week intensive training course, offered in partnership with the Huether School of Business of The College of Saint Rose. Class topics include: developing a business plan, strategic planning, marketing, sales forecasting, financial management and analysis, as well as a discussion of legal, insurance and tax issues. The course provides fundamental planning concepts and tools to help existing and potential business owners. The course will be held Saturday mornings from 9-Noon at Huether School of Business of The College of Saint Rose, Albany. Free parking is available. The tuition for the course is $240 and includes class materials and light refreshments. Scholarships may be available. Free IT Workshop: Tuesday, September 18th 9-10:30 am Matt Kelly, IT Administrator and owner of Elucid Systems, will partner with CLFCR to provide 10 tips for avoiding common IT mistakes in your business. Technology plays an important role in today’s small business operations. Unfortunately, it is often overlooked in the busyness of business. Learn how technology can be used to keep your business operating smoothly. Experienced users – evaluate if you can up your game! (Or automate it. Or outsource it.) We’ll look at ways to improve your business using QuickBooks + Apps. 11:AM – 12:30 |Q&A Several QuickBooks Pro Advisors will be available to discuss your needs.
