Bill Newman and Peggy Kaufman are starting a Small Ministry Group at Unity, and you are invited to their first session to see if it’s for you. The Small Group experience is intended to bring a deeper spiritual connection to those of us attending Albany Unity in a small interactive group setting. The program will initially meet twice monthly from 10AM to noon on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of each month. The format will be a chalice lighting, a “check in” and an opening reading of the day’s topic. It could be something like: “What’s the Greatest Virtue you bring to Others” or “How does one find Peace, Harmony and Tranquility in today’s Hyper world?” Or, “Spiritually, what’s the deeper meaning to Love one’s Neighbor?” The leader for that session (it rotates) will find and present relevant quotes from leading scholars and thinkers, and that will be the basis for a lively discussion. If you ever thought about deepening your experiences with others in the Unity congregation, then this twice a month program may be EXACTLY what you’ve been looking for!
We will meet twice monthly but the group will decide the best dates going forward. For our start up sessions in February, we’ve elected the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month: that’s 2/13 and 2/27. If there’s interest also in a Tuesday evening scheduled group then we may offer that as well. Ideally the group will be limited to 7 or 8 people so everyone can participate equally.
