On Sunday, August 11 we were privileged to receive members of the Sri Chinmoy Oneness-Home Peace Run near the end of our morning service.
The Sri Chinmoy Oneness-Home Peace Run is a global torch relay that offers everyone in the world a chance to express their longing for peace. Since its founding in 1987, the Run has visited almost every country on earth – over 150 nations and territories – and touched the lives of millions of people.
Their 2024 USA/Canada Route began on April 15 in New York City and then proceeded south, encircling the US in clockwise fashion, passing through 35 states and even including a couple of forays into Canada on the return trip east. Their stop in Albany was among the last on the four-month trek back to NYC.
The runners entered our sanctuary in perfect synchronicity as we sang “The Peace Song”!
