a positive path for spiritual living

  1. I would like to go slow and let our church community make decisions as events unfold.
Rather than sit in an overflow room, I will feel safer in my own apt. I don’t wish to get into a competition about who gets in and who doesn’t. I think that if the church should open physically, I will probably continue to live-stream and observe how things work. I will gauge my level of safety.

  2. I would like to be able to continue work in library. Also I am interested in serving in some capacity in search for new pastor.

  3. Echo Sam and thank you for this survey and keeping all our Unity members by completing this survey an opportunity to express their concerns .
Basically I would be comfortable returning to Unity when Gov Cuomo gives us the green light.
I have been following his daily briefings and agree with his philosophy, follow the facts, learn from other situations, and continue to be open to new information.
As we know , life is an ongoing adventure. No guarantees, but asking for guidance from our Source and listening to that Source is the way to not just survive but thrive.
Am grateful for my Unity family.
Thankful for the livestream and all the time and effort by Rev Steve, Roger, Gerri, Carol, Pete, Terry, Heather, Peggy and the board. and others who contribute to keeping our Unity church community alive and well.
    ❤️☮️ and many blessings,
    Regina

  4. i didn’t know if there be a space for comments so i wrote on other spot in questionnaire. The survey is great, thorough . Thank you. Small gatherings might be good downstairs, spread out , masks or sanctuary, out doors in the garden. , maybe time to get volunteers going there? Meet in a park? Just a couple of ideas…

  5. I am thinking that once the bans on social distancing are over there will be an uptick in CoVid cases. The degree to which this will take place is entirely unknown but the medical research on other Corona viruses shows that they reemerge and they can reinfect someone who already has had it in the past. Everyone needs to continue to be as careful as possible. I know this is such a tedious way to live but I think we need to continue to use caution. We as a church are going to have to drastically change our behaviors when we meet. We might need badges or sign language for those who want hugs, etc. and allow space for those who do not. Unfortunately hugs are so healing…..Regina, Paul, Gay, Eugenie, Sam & Gary, you all have good thoughts on this topic. I totally agree that the services have been fundamental to holding us up to the Light and keeping us on track. The musicians, the speakers and Reverend Steve have really been a blessing to us all and I thank each of you for being there for all of us. God bless and let us continue to shine our Light upon this planet.

  6. Since there are several staircases, perhaps one could be designated for going up, and another for going down, with exception of course for anyone who needs to use the chair lift for access.
I wonder if we might set a limit on number of people in the sanctuary and the overflow would be requested to listen in Fellowship Hall.
I want to express my thanks for being able to continue to benefit from the services from home, it’s meant a lot to me.

  7. Here are my thoughts:

I look forward to resuming services in person at the sanctuary. I would be most happy to attend an every other Sunday service, e.g. on first and third Sundays or the 2nd and 4th. Perhaps the Board can devise a reservation-lottery system for July and August live participation, one that would allow fewer people in attendance per service over the summer while the threat of virus transmission continues to diminish locally. Question: if we occupy every other pew from the platform and singles or families six feet apart from each other, what’s the estimate of how many could reasonably-safely attend.

I struggled with the question about greeting others by hugging or banning it: one compromise is a rule no hand shaking/hugging INSIDE. But OUTSIDE, following the service, people could make their own decisions about extending physical greetings.

I also would like to put in a “big ask” that we hold the July 12th Service in Thatcher Park. What a Great Spiritual Event that has been – especially with the drumming circles lead by Pete!! Being outdoors, those who are most concerned can continue to practice social distancing by bringing chairs and sitting at a space they are most comfortable from others.

  8. When there is a vaccine, I will attend services and groups at the church although being in the company of church members is so very special.

How about organizing outside groups where we can social distance.

Thank you all for offering so much solace…❤️

  9. I’ve read the survey results and the many comments, which indicate how thoughtful you are in working towards resuming services and events at Unity Church.

I attend a 12 Step Meeting at Unity Church, and know that there are many other meetings that occur during any given week. As I didn’t see any mention of these 12 Step Meetings, I just wanted to bring this issue to your attention to add to your ongoing discussions.

My meeting uses the small room at the end of the corridor. If 12 Step Meetings resume at some point, this room would probably be too small for participants to adhere to the minimum 6 foot physical distancing protocol.

I’ve read some comments refer to your Fellowship Hall, which may be a larger and more appropriate venue for all the 12 Step Meetings to meet (if and when they are allowed to resume).

    Thank you.
