a positive path for spiritual living

Building & Grounds News

We are happy to have recently had the repointing of our brick work done on our beautiful church!
Repointing is the process of renewing the pointing, which is the external part of mortar joints, in masonry construction. Over time, weathering and decay cause voids in the joints between bricks, allowing the undesirable entrance of water, which can cause significant damage over time.
Extensive deteriorization of mortar is evident in this photo.

Here is a before and after shot of the repointing progress.

Many thanks to the workers who did an excellent job (despite challenging summer temps) and who also replenished the mulch for our garden beds which had been inundated with dust from the job.
