…a Midsummer Night’s Theme!
Please join us for our OneSong multi-faith music service this Sunday as we celebrate Midsummer* – the time when the Northern Hemisphere experiences its longest days, with the sun reaching its highest point in the sky.
Though we won’t likely be singing “Bring back those lazy, hazy crazy days of summer”, we will be sharing songs, chants and sacred texts that celebrate Light and illumination.
(* Since prehistory, the summer solstice has been seen as a significant time of year in many cultures, and has been marked by festivals and rituals. Traditionally, in many temperate regions (especially Europe), the summer solstice is seen as the middle of summer and referred to as “midsummer”. – Wikipedia )
