Writing with Company is held weekly on Wednesdays from 12-2 pm in the Unity of Albany Library.
Our goals are simple:
to nurture our own voices, and then by sharing our voices with each other, to nurture our sense of community. There is profound power in the act of writing in community, of writing with company, and writers of ALL levels are invited into this safe, brave space.
Each week will begin with a short centering, followed by dedicated writing time and ending with a time for sharing– which could be about your process and/or what you produced, and is always optional. If you desire feedback, it will be positive and tailored to what you, the writer, need. You can work on any sort of writing: poems, stories, sketches, essays, letters, shopping lists, journal entries, anything at all. There will be a wide variety of writing prompts available to use as you wish.
Please bring your own lunch and writing materials. Hot water for tea will be available.Â

Today was my first visit to Unity. I have just moved to the area. I belonged to a memoir writing group in my former church, I am interested in joining the group but I have a graduation in Long Island this week. Hope to catch up with you next week. Ruth Baker
We’d love to have you join us! It’s an informal, friendly group. Drop in when you can.
Sorry I can’t make it today (May 28), as I have an appointment with my shrink. But I’ll be back! Wonderful group.
