OneSong Service: Agape

NOTE: Our services are now both in-person and live-streamed on YouTube. Registration is not currently needed for Sunday evening services. To view services online, go to our YouTube Channel to view live or any time later.

OneSong is our multi-faith music service, led by Rev. Roger Mock and our music team on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month at 7:00 pm. Songs and chants from various faith traditions and sources are offered along with a guided meditation and readings from sacred texts chosen around a particular theme each week.

This week we focus on Agape – Divine Love.
When Jesus spoke of love, he used one of four words. Translated into Greek they are:
storge (stor-gay) to describe familial love, philia to describe love for a friend and eros for sensual love.
The word he used most often, though, was agape–God’s love–the highest form of love.

In reality there is only one love; when man expresses divine love in limited ways he makes a separation in consciousness and his expression of love is personal instead of universal.
