Join us online this year for our annual Burning Bowl Service:
What Is a Burning Bowl Ceremony?
The burning bowl ceremony is a fire ceremony that helps you release old, unwanted conditions or events in your life.
Through the powerful and symbolic release of the burning bowl ritual, you can let go of anything holding you back.
There are two phases to our ceremony.
1. You are invited to release anything that no longer serves you and move forward in peace and freedom in the year ahead.
We know 2020 has been challenging for every one of us. This ceremony is an opportunity to welcome a new year full of new energy and potential.
Use the online form to name what you want to release. On New Year’s Eve, watch it go into the ceremonial fire in the Unity Albany garden. Together in faith, we let go of negative thoughts, hurts, or fears … and experience renewal.
By burning away that which you wish to leave in the old year, may you embrace the promise and hope of 2021. Together we create a future filled with possibility.
2. Write your “Letter to God.”
Though we will provide time within the service to begin your letter-writing, you can feel free to continue your writing anytime after the service if needed.
This is time to allow Spirit to help you envision and ultimately manifest your intentions for the new year. How will you create this New Year? What are your goals, your dreams, your plans? How will the power of Faith carry you forward and reveal your path into 2021?
When you have completed your letter, we invite you put it in a self-addressed, stamped envelope, fold that envelope into thirds and insert it in another envelope addressed to Unity Church, 21 King Ave., Albany, NY 12206. Letters will be returned to you in October or November, allowing you to reflect upon your intentions for the year and to continue to affirm the vision as 2021 draws to a close.
